It’s unusual, in any human pursuit or field of knowledge, for one individual with a singular vision to transform that activity in a fundamental way. But Daniel Galhardo has done just that. No, it’s not finding a cure for cancer, but he has single-handedly altered the fly fishing landscape in a real and lasting way. By introducing tenkara to the US, Daniel has reinvigorated a sport that, in many ways, had become a bit stale. Many longtime fly anglers are finding a renewed passion for their sport through tenkara, and I believe many people who viewed fly fishing as too difficult to master will find tenkara to be the portal through which they will pass to the world of fly fishing.
