Hey could you tell me what kind of tenkara rod i should get for the Missouri streams?

    • Tenkara Ambassador

We’re beginning to see a multitude of tenkara (or tenkara-like) rod vendors. I have only used the TenkaraUSA 12′ Iwana. It has been a totally satisfactory rod. TenkaraUSA’s warranty and service are hard to beat. Certainly there are other excellent rods out there.

Thanks very much for posting these links. I’m 57 and got the Tenkara itch. I mostly pond fish. My front yard is a 2 acre pond full of bluegill and bass, many closing in on the 3lb range. I got my mind set on the Tatsu 360 from DRAGONtail, it’s affordable and looks to be the rig to meet my needs. Do you know of anybody fishing Tenkara in the Lake Guntersville area of Alabama?

James, sorry I am not familiar with Lake Guntersville, but I would recommend getting out on the lake with a boat or kayak, tie on a popping bug, cast toward shore, and BE READY! Good luck, and thanks for reading the blog. TA
